Binnies, an RSK Company are looking for a Dams Engineer with ANCOLD experience to work within our Consultancy team on dam and reservoir projects. We are seeking an applicant with experience at RPEQ Chartered/ Principal level.

As a Lead Dams Engineer, you will have the opportunity to use your technical experience of dams projects from concept, through outline, detailed design and construction, to lead teams in the delivery of dam related consultancy projects. Ideally you will have specialist experience in the dams sector, particularly in Australia, with a background in leading and instructing more junior engineers to produce deliverables in these disciplines. 

You will bring your Australian Dams industry experience and knowledge of ANCOLD standards, but you will have the opportunity to work closely with our international teams and clients using ICOLD or British standards. You will work particularly closely with our UK team.

About the Role

 

Typically, you will lead civil engineering and/or multi-disciplinary teams and support and mentor more junior engineers to achieve the following:

  • create outline and detailed designs for a variety of multi-disciplinary water utilities, dams and flood & coast projects,
  • produce calculations and reports to support those designs across a variety of technical disciplines,
  • work directly with clients to understand their needs and develop solutions to their problems,
  • work with project managers to produce business cases and proposals to enable our clients to fund their projects,
  • work with our construction partners to improve safety of designs and understand and improve the construction process,
  • ensure our designs take account of buildability, sustainability, H&S and environmental requirements.

About You

 

  • RPEQ Civil Engineer (or able to obtain it within the next few months).
  • Previous experience in the dams and reservoirs sector.
  • Able to support and mentor junior engineers
  • ANCOLD experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. 
  • Self-motivated and effective team player.
  • A drive to deliver sustainable solutions in the water and environment industries.
